Intro/Pre-Departure

Hello All!
My name is Tom Farish and I am a sophomore Physics major from Marietta College and this spring I will be living in Oslo, Norway.

Some people may ask why I chose to study in Norway, where the sun will be up for only about 6 hours and the average temperature will be steadily below freezing when I first arrive there, instead of Barcelona or Costa Rica or somewhere warm and near the beach. Well the answer to that is very simple: I like the cold! I love winter! (and I sunburn really easily 😐). Norway is beautiful and I can't wait to explore her frozen fjords.

While I am there I will be taking a handful of classes that will transfer as Gen-Ed credits back home, but no classes which count directly towards my major. I am hoping that the majority of my education will be done outside of the classroom, learning about the culture and the country as a whole.

Stay tuned, there will be much more to come!
